Lübeck in Moonlight - Study

- Study of Louis Douzette's painting "Lübeck in Moonlight", which I saw in the "Prinzenpalais" in Oldenburg earlier this year. It really impressed me and seeing it in person helped me understand some techniques better, which I have to work on.
The way I figured how Douzette painted it, is by starting with a very thick layer of paint applied with bristle brushes. On top of that he adjusted the colors and light with glazes. At least this is how I tried to do it here. It is much harder to photograph though, as the brush strokes reflect the light quite strongly. https://www.instagram.com/p/B4puOguqebE/
